Blesta 4.1.1 Patch Released

We are pleased to announce the released of Blesta 4.1.1, which addresses bugs discovered in the 4.1.0 branch. A big thanks to everyone who participated in helping to make Blesta better by reporting and confirming bugs on our forums, we appreciate your help!

Always run /admin/upgrade in your browser after patching or upgrading your installation. PLEASE NOTE: This patch creates and populates a new table. If your installation contains a large number of invoices, this can take some time. If possible, you should run the upgrader via CLI from your Blesta directory: php ./index.php admin/upgrade Always back up your files & database prior to performing an upgrade.

Blesta 4.1 is available right now. New features for staff, clients, and developers, as well as seven new extensions, make this is a release that has something for everyone.

  • Client language selector
  • Out of quantity packages show out of stock on order form
  • New required contact field client group option
  • File based logging of actions and errors
  • Packages no longer require a module
  • New Modules: CentovaCast, TCAdmin, VestaCP, Virtualmin, and WHMSonic
  • New Gateways: Alipay, and PayUmoney
  • Custom language file and many new events/hooks for developers
  • Plesk module updated to support Onyx
  • Fraud checks are run for all orders whether client is new or existing

It’s been a wild ride, but the time has finally come for FOUR. This is our largest release since version 3 with over 400 tasks completed, and it’s available right now.

What’s new in 4.0?

  • PHP 7 is now supported.
  • Major codebase upgrade to new version of the minPHP framework.
  • Mass Mailer plugin lets you send email to specific customers, or export the data.
  • Clean new FOUR staff and client area themes, and new dropdown staff menu.
  • Fantastic looking interactive graphs let you see a breakdown of revenue by payment type.
  • New client order link and permissions based order form listing page.
  • Many order form improvements like reCAPTCHA 2, GeoIP state/province selection & more.
  • Fantastic new The SSL Store module and plugin. Create an account and start selling now.
  • Blesta License Module is now included with Blesta for Blesta resellers.

And so much more that the changelog can’t even show them all!

Directories removed in 4.0

The following directories are not in the 4.0 distribution, but were in 3.x. If upgrading, you may remove them.

  • ~/helpers/javascript
  • ~/helpers/pagination
  • ~/helpers/xml

What’s next?

Smaller, more frequent releases. The next couple releases are likely to include some minor, frequently requested features and improvements. We are also working on some bigger things behind the scenes, like better support for domains. Those things will be pushed out as they become available.

To patch your installation, please follow the instructions for Patching an Existing Install from our user manual.

We recently migrated from Subversion to Git for version control as part of our effort to further streamline our development and build processes. We are also now using Composer for all Blesta extensions and have integrated this into our build process. As a result, you may see composer.json files included with extensions, which is normal going forward.
