Three FIVE is here and it includes configurable option upgrades and downgrades, SolusVM improvements, custom reports, and a lot more.
See the documentation for details on how to install or upgrade.
What’s new in 3.5?
And more, see the changelog!
There are two new settings that affect config option upgrades and downgrades. Visit Settings > Company > Billing/Payment > Invoice and Charge Options and look for the following two settings:
- Allow Prorated Credits to be Issued for Service Downgrades
- Queue Service Changes Until Paid
The first one determines how downgrades should be handled. Check the box if you want to issue prorated credits to clients who downgrade. The second one determines how upgrades are handled. Check the box if you want upgrades to be processed only after payment has been received.
Sponsored Development
A big shout out to KnownHost for sponsoring development on several new features in 3.5 including config option upgrades/downgrades, SolusVM improvements, and more. If your company is interested in sponsored development, we would love to hear from you!
“We have had the pleasure of working with Blesta’s team over the past nine months or so on a sponsored development project. From start to finish the interactions between Blesta and KnownHost have been great. From pricing and planning all the way to implementation and even some recommendations from Blesta’s team along the way about how to better accomplish a few of the goals we set out it’s been a wonderful experience. Blesta is a solid product built on a good code base which allowed great flexibility and made possible the implementation of the features we were looking for resulting in an awesome, well-rounded product. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship between Blesta and KnownHost.” — Jonathan Wright, Director of Managed Services, KnownHost, LLC
“It was really great to work with KnownHost toward bringing some important new features to Blesta. Their experience in the hosting industry proved very valuable during the planning and development process for these features, resulting in their best possible implementation for the benefit of everyone. Close collaboration between software developers and users is how development should be done.” — Paul Phillips, President, Phillips Data, Inc.
What’s next?
We are raising the minimum requirements to PHP 5.4 for Blesta 4.0. Blesta runs great on PHP 5.5 and 5.6, so upgrade your server now if you haven’t already. Here are a couple things to look forward to:
- Mass Mailer
- Usability Improvements
- And..? :) Stay tuned.
We do our best to prioritize development based on demand. Is there a feature you really want to see in a future release? Let us know on our feature requests forum!
