Hi

Namecheap modules in other billing systems allows me to store a coupon against my account which in theory allows me to obtain a discount on domain registrations.  Is this something their API supports and if so, could we add it in please?

e.g. https://www.whbsupport.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=379

Thanks

Sounds like a plan for the next upgrade of it, I wonder if they will :D

Great request! Do you resell NameCheap domains to your Customers, Bloory ?

No, I tried them but have an old Enom account which I use predominantly (much better pricing)

Any updates on this? A coupon / PromotionCode field in settings, would be nice.

Coupons that can be passed to the namecheap API? That is a bit unusual, why wouldn't namecheap just give you the best price? The link above no longer seems to work http://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/757/63/can-namecheap-coupons-be-used-with-api

Blesta supports coupons, but there are no methods by which a coupon can be set for individual client accounts and then included in the API call for registering namecheap domains. Now, that could be possible with a custom client field to store a coupon and an update to the module, but this seems like something that would only really work for namecheap (if they still support this), as it seems very unusual.

Yes Namecheap coupons can be passed to the API, check PromotionCode https://www.namecheap.com/support/api/methods/domains/create/

It can be passed also on domain renewals and domain transfers.

Thanks for the updated link. I see it allows PromotionCode, but how are these coupon codes obtained? Wouldn't you want to use the coupon every time a domain is registered, regardless of client, and if so, wouldn't a coupon field be best suited for adding in the Namecheap module configuration so it is applied to all registrations? If not, more information on how these coupons work and are created and their purpose would be helpful in determining if this is something we want to add.

Some coupons are always working, for example:

COUPONFCNC provides a 20% discount every time a transaction is made (domain registration/renewal/transfer etc.).

NEWCOM649 gives you a new .com domain registration for just $6.49

The Namecheap module settings could have a coupon text field that is applied in the API every time a transaction is made, or few text fields (let's say 3) for various coupons that can be configured in the settings to be applied on specific events. For example NEWCOM649 only when a new .com domain is registered. COUPONFCNC when any transaction is made that doesn't involve a new .com domain registration.
