Trying To Install Free Trial, Says The License Key Is Invalid.

Question

Posted

Hi

I have successfully installed Blesta 3 but when I reach the Initial Setup, and select "I want to start a 30-day free trial" I keep getting an error  "The license key is invalid" as per the attached screenshot.

This is a direct install on a local server, and there were no errors in the installation. I have tried with both Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

Thanks

That's the problem. If setting up a trial on a local network, you need to create an alias for the installation and access it using that alias. You can do this by modifying the hosts file on your computer.

Just to add to what Cody said, the system thinks that you already had a trial because you're using "localhost" for the hostname, or a non-routable IP as the hostname, that may be black listed, or had previously been issued a trial.

If you edit your hosts file you can point another host name to your local IP and get it to work.

Or, upload the code to a public web server and run it there.

To edit the host file just incase you don't know how to do this, you go to /windows/system32/drivers/etc/ and then drag + Shift it to your desktop, then right click it and open it in notepad.

When your finished editting save it, and drag it back into the folder and overwrite it. Job done :).
