How do we clear or delete the various logs?

Question

Posted

1) - Can we clear or delete these various logs by directly opening specific Blesta files or the database ?

Gateway
Email
User Logins
Transactions
CRONS
Email Delivery

We are concerned with database storage getting bigger and bigger.

2) - Is there a way to delete up to a specific date or a certain amount of days ?

You can even get answers faster right here: https://docs.blesta.com/display/user/System+>+Automation

Whatever you do, never delete your cron log. The rotation policy will handle that in a safe way, deleting it manually will cause problems. Some logs are not rotated as part of this policy, like the mail log. The mail log is safe to truncate manually. I don't recommend truncating any other logs. Storage is cheap and unless you have tens of thousands of customers, your database should remain manageable.

@Paul

OK.

So you are saying to  only truncate the "Email" logs .

1) - Is it safe to truncate the "User Logins" ?

2) - Is the Blesta System already setup to know what logs to truncate, and not to within the "Rotation Policy" ?

3) - Is there a configuration for the "Rotation Policy" within the Admin panel ?

I think so, but I don't recommend it. Having a history of when and from where customers log in can be useful in audits.

Yes, but there are some logs that are not rotated intentionally, like the mail log and user logins. The mail log has the tendency to get the largest, but has a complete history of all email each customer received, which can be very useful.

Only the retention policy (number of days to keep logs), as Mike mentioned earlier in this thread.
