Possible To Make A Product That Is Active But Not Public?

I need to make a custom hosting account for client (with some custom settings, like a specific number of allowed domains, etc). I don't this to be an option for any other client to see. How can I do that and allow the new client to buy the product?

Set the package to restricted, and then on the client page under Account Actions, click Set Packages.

Sounds like something you could use a restricted package for.

Create a restricted package, go to client profile, click "Set Packages" on the left, select the desired package to add, then you can add the service to their account after that.  Right now you have to do it yourself, but hopefully in the near future it will be possible for the client to order assigned restricted packages themselves from the client area.

Yes, we will be adding the ability for authenticated clients to see and order restricted packages they have access to. This will round up this feature nicely.

OK, thanks. The client does not exist in the system yet so should I create their account, add the package and then give them the login to add payment info?

Or you could have them register first so they are the one creating the account and you don't have to worry about a temporary password setup/etc, and then once they do that you can do the rest.

Thanks - I don't see any way to let them register. The only way seems to be via choosing a hosting package first.

You can create an order page set to register.
