Paypal Transactions Not Recorded - Invoice Stays Open

Question

Posted

I have this problem with a client. He pays via pyapal and the transaction does not get applied.

This used to work for a year and not stopped working.

I get an email from paypal that the invoice has been paid and the emails has the correct invoice ID and amount but Blesta still keeps the invoice open. What am I missing?

If the IPN is correct, check the gateway logs under [Logs] -> [Gateway] to see if a transaction was received from PayPal. If not, either one was not sent by PayPal, or it was not received by Blesta.

Tyson,

I am having issues with duplicate paypal transactions being recorded and duplicate payment notification emails being sent out to clients. Is this related to this topic? I configured Varnish so that paypal payments are passed to web server...this works.

Everything is located in the Logs in Blesta admin. Take a look at attached pic.

The log table doesn't say much without clicking on the rows to view the Input/Output. Compare two records of logs you think are identical and find the difference between them.

My thoughts are duplicate payments are being made, or PayPal is responding more than once about the payment.

They may have the same transaction number, but are they identical? I would need to see a set of logs to tell for certain. The log times appear to be off anywhere from 6 to 30 seconds. I wonder if the payment status was first pending, then 6-30 seconds later it was approved by PayPal.
