Service Are Being Suspended 5 Days Before Their Renewal Date

Question

Posted

Hi... I just noticed that services gets suspended 5 days before their actual renewal date. After checking the invoices I did notice that the date of invoice creation was the same as the due date instead of the due date being the date of service creation. Is anyone experiencing this issue? or any ideas?

We are here only talking about initial starting date of service that define all following renewall dates

yes, I think I ever mention this before.

For now all is done in Blesta like if all payments are always or should be done same day as order but it's very wrong if payment come later ( check, cash deposit, etc...).

Service must start from payment date and not from the date of the order, it's just common sence in my opinion.

Some type of payment can take 2-7 days to arrives (particulary in countries where the mass do not have a bank account but people can do cash deposit through many retail networks), so for now with Blesta, customer are invoiced for service there was not able to use, because service was not yet active before their payment date....

I never saw this issue with other billing system, common rule is service start at payment date.

There's a task for that CORE-912. At the moment, we suggest changing the renew date if the provision date is not the same day.

@OP

Do you know how the service was created? Via order form or manually? Was an invoice created at the time the service was created? Was the service edited by an admin to change anything (dates, etc.)? Was the cron disabled for any period of time?

Hi, the service was automatically created after payment recording, No modifications were made to the invoice nor the service renewal date. As for the cron we never had it disabled. I have noticed 2 services which had the same issue (suspended before renewal date) and on checking all the invoices due date was same as the invoice creation date.

What's the date for suspensions for? Settings > Billing / Payment > Suspend Services Days After Due.

Not had that happen to me yet unless your server time is out.

That is set to 7 days after due while the invoice is set to be created 10 days before renewal date.

Woops didn't see that lol :D or just use pro-rota :D

Sadly I we can't introduce prorate for this brand, people have already gotten used to the usual billing circle.

Thanks for the info, hoping this will be solved soon.  ;)

Have you added any third-party extensions to Blesta? Short of some custom code or manual intervention that might have affected it, I'm not sure why it was suspended before the renew date. If you can, try to keep an eye on it to see if it happens again to any other services.
