Sam Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 I saw some code in a thread here which allows this, but I sincerely the default functionality should be built in to let Admins decide whether users can create a username, or whether registrant e-mail addresses should be used by default as login IDs. This day and age, customers want simple. Killing two birds by allowing a user's e-mail address to be used as their login ID qualifies Thanks! Quote
Michael Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 Not sure about this as I prefer letting the customer choose so I'll say -1 for now . Quote
Blesta Addons Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 this has already discussed and assigned to task CORE-1387 . ihope of that can be in 3.4.0 rather than 3.5.0 , as alot of new clients request it . Quote

And I don't think that you should be deprived of that. Which is why I think letting the client choose ought to be a configuration decision. Blesta Addons 1 Quote
Daniel B Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 the above CORE listed by Naja is enough for me, and should resolve these issues when it comes around to it. Until then, I'll just stick with the code modification to remove the username option. I'm all for letting the customer choose certain things, but I don't feel the option of what type of username to use really needs to be something they have to worry about picking. I require all my clients to use their email...just makes things simple. Quote

Daniel B Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 Any updates on this, friends at Blesta ? What kind of update are you looking for? As mentioned earlier in the thread, it's already been assigned as a future feature: Core-1387, looks like it's scheduled for version 3.5, but that could always change. Michael 1 Quote
