Alk Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 I have had a couple of customers who place an order and include the "www." for the domain name. Unfortunately, this then means that the cPanel accounts all get created with a username of "wwwblah" which is not at all helpful. This then means that you end up with a load of accounts all starting with "www" for their usernames. However, what is worse is that when cPanel creates the new account it will strip out the "www." in the domain name which then means that the "welcome email" which customer's receive for their service will have the incorrect details. See my sample "welcome email" below: Domain: www.domain.comPlan: Plan ABilling cycle: 1 Year Login Details cPanel control panel address: http://www.domain.com/cpanelFTP address: ftp.www.domain.comUsername: wwwdomai Password: Email Settings For email accounts that you setup via cPanel, you should use the following connection details for your email application: Incoming (POP3 & IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server address: mail.www.domain.com etc. etc. Note how the ftp and mail addresses are incorrect as a consequence of the "www." because cPanel has in reality made the account like: FTP address: ftp.domain.com Username: wwwdomai Incoming (POP3 & IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail server address: mail.domain.com Please can you make Blesta strip out the "www." when an order is placed? (eg. strip it out on the order form) Quote
Michael Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 CORE-1567 thanks! Paul mate, would that be best for all modules like InterWorx / DirectAdmin / Plesk? Quote
