wfitg Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 Am I the only one too stupid to understand how to configure DKIM and SPF? Every time i think I have this configured correctly one of the "BiG" email providers like Hotmail/Outlook/Google changes the rules of the game. Here is a bounce: A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: user@hotmail.com SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: host mx3.hotmail.com [207.46.8.167]: 550 5.7.0 (BAY004-MC5F5) Message could not be delivered. Please ensure the message is RFC 5322 compliant. What can be done server-side to make the users' default DKIM and SPF work correctly? None of the users know or understand what these are. They only know how to go to cPanel and enable them.In my case they are sending and receiving from their 'domain.com. But they are actually sending and receiving from the WHM's mail server. Anyone have experience with this annoyong topic? Quote

Anyone have experience with this annoyong topic? Depends on the control panel, I've set my domain up for them and DMARC but mine was easy you will need to make records for each one. Use this sexy little tool for SPF: http://www.anti-spamtools.org/ Not sure how you do it on cPanel though. Quote

My issue is somewhere in DNS and name server config. Quote

Do you want to add SPF etc for every new account or just your domain? If so you need to look up Exim docs for it mate. Quote

wfitg Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 I found the problem. When using a contact form on a website always specify a "From" address. Otherwise Hotmail/Outlook will reject it. Hotmail seems to be the only one doing this. feh... Michael 1 Quote
