Upgrade Discounted Service

How would I manage the below situation in Blesta:

 

Client purchased a $20 package at a special discount of $10 off

 

Customer is enjoying the service and wishes to upgrade.

 

We'd like to offer the customer the same price/performance ratio and to do this we'd have to offer him our $40 package.  We'd like to still offer the same discount to the client so to discount the package to $20 ($40 - $20).  Is there a way to do this?

We discussed this in a ticket, but it did result in CORE-1066. Adding that here, for future reference, it adds an option to staff service management to add and edit recurring coupons.
