AllToolKits.com Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Hello Blesta team, We are blesta module creators for many clients, and we find it difficult for new developers to develop it as documentation is poor. Have you taken any step on creating good documentation? Quote
Daniel B Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 What specific type of documentation are you looking for? What's missing? I've always considered their documentation to be quite detailed. You are using: http://docs.blesta.com/display/dev/Overview? AllToolKits.com 1 Quote
AllToolKits.com Posted November 1, 2013 Author Report Posted November 1, 2013 What i want is to know is, how i can create view files for a module? I guess editting core files of blesta is bad, and we have to add all view files inside view folder, right? We can add any view file? How to add it? Also i want to call an api from a function, what should be the function name for that ? Quote
AllToolKits.com Posted November 1, 2013 Author Report Posted November 1, 2013 What i was trying is, just editting the cpanel module instead of creating new one from scratch, is it good method or should start from scratch? Quote
AllToolKits.com Posted November 1, 2013 Author Report Posted November 1, 2013 If you can provide a dummy module code that will be nice too. Quote
Tyson Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 There is dummy code for each module method and some getting started with modules documentation. What other information would you like to see? What i was trying is, just editting the cpanel module instead of creating new one from scratch, is it good method or should start from scratch? It's always good to start from scratch, otherwise you'll need to go through the module later to remove extraneous functionality, views, language definitions, etc. that are specific to the other module you copied from, but not to your new one. AllToolKits.com Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 Tyson, Thanks a lot for your reply. We made good progress with the module development. We will announce the release of the new plugin when it's ready. Quote
