Restoring Database From Backup

Is there a built-in process for restoring a database created from the backup function?  If not, what's the procedure to do so?  I can't find it referenced in the manual.

If you have phpMyAdmin you can import the .sql or .gzip file directly. If not, you can import by running the mysql command.

I had to recreate my already-imported users and whole setup because phpMyAdmin refused to import the .sql or .gzip saying it had errors. So I gave up thinking that it's because blesta is new.
