Blesta 5.13.9 is a maintenance release made up primarily of routine bug fixes. It also addresses one reported low-severity security issue and includes some additional defense-in-depth hardening. A patch is being released for the 5.13 branch.

The functional fixes cover partial refund status handling, a Support Manager OAuth2 callback issue, a default avatar path regression, the display of the ACH payment option in the order flow, and email blacklist wildcard matching. We give this an overall impact rating of Low. We recommend applying the 5.13.9 patch, or upgrading to version 5.13.9.

Several security issues affecting Blesta versions 3.0.0 through 5.13.7 have been identified. Patches are being released for the 5.12 and 5.13 branches.

These include an authorization issue, a low-severity enumeration issue on a public endpoint (no customer or account data is exposed), an inbound email header parsing issue in the Support Manager, two issues that could allow code execution by a caller already holding valid API credentials, a password-reset flow issue that could weaken account protections under specific conditions, and additional hardening to CSRF token verification and the Uploads component. Individual issues range in severity, but we give this an overall impact rating of High based on the most severe issue. We recommend applying the appropriate patch for your release, or upgrading to version 5.13.8 as soon as possible.

This time we’re focusing on two more major updates — AI features built right into the platform, and a much better Support Manager. This is the first time we’re talking about AI in Blesta publicly, but there’s more we haven’t covered here.

AI: Content Generation

In Blesta 6, you can generate content right where you need it. Need a package description? Describe what the package offers, and Blesta AI will draft it for you. The same works for HTML email templates — give it a rough idea, or rewrite an existing template, and it generates clean, styled HTML you can customize from there. The model understands available tags, filters, and loops, so the output is useful right away. It works great as a starting point.

One of these vulnerabilities could potentially allow remote code execution under certain conditions. TLDR; We’re adjusting prices on all licenses effective immediately for new purchases. Existing monthly license holders will keep their current pricing through December 31, 2025, then transition to new pricing on January 1, 2026. Support & Updates renewal prices will start January 1, 2026.

We launched Blesta in 2007 with monthly licenses priced at $12.95. When we rewrote Blesta from scratch and released version 3 in 2013, we kept that same price. It’s now 2025, and that price has never changed— until now.

Featured Extension - WordPress Manager

Our friends over at Softaculous have released a new plugin for Blesta called WordPress Manager by Softaculous.

What does the WordPress Manager plugin do?

The plugin allows clients to manage their WordPress installations directly from within Blesta, under the “Manage” link for their hosting service. The cPanel module is currently supported, and other shared hosting modules will likely be supported in the future.

Description

A user with a valid username and password may be able to properly validate two-factor authentication using TOTP by guessing the correct code. This issue is classified as a Low vulnerability. (CORE-1213)

An authenticated staff member may be able to affect settings in the system where they are otherwise prohibited via ACL restrictions, via carefully crafted HTTP POST requests under limited circumstances. This issue is classified as a Moderate vulnerability. (CORE-1163)

Active and valid staff members may be able to access areas of the application without proper ACL permissions. Additionally, staff members may not be logged out immediately after being made inactive. Improved CLI Installer

The command line installer gets non-interactive mode support in 3.1. This allows integration services to automate installation of Blesta. Read more about CLI installation.

Extensions Simplified

Plugins, Modules, and Gateways now support a config.json file that defines basic details such as author, name, version, and more. This greatly reduces the redundancy and maintenance across extensions, simplifying the development process. Blesta 3.0: Ticket System (video)

The ticket system in v3 is a plugin, which means it can be installed or uninstalled with the click of a button. If you haven’t noticed yet, we try to keep things simple by separating everything into one of two categories: Core, and Extensions. Since extensions can register links and views in the system, if you don’t need a particular extension uninstalling it results in a lighter interface.

I don’t know about you, but I feel less stressed, and more productive with less clutter!

Two-factor Authentication: Why you need it

They predict that, “a number of technology and telecommunication companies will likely implement some form of multifactor authentication with their services, software and/or devices in 2013.” I see this less as a prediction and more of an advanced report of the facts, since we had the same notion back in 2010 when we announced two-factor authentication for Blesta.

Whoa, it has been a busy week! If you didn’t hear, we released v3 alpha on Wednesday, which is a huge milestone. We’re excited and gearing up for the next phase, which I think will be a lot of fun.

Part of prepping for the alpha was building an installer and handling licensing. We opted to do a CLI installer for now, but you’ll have the option of installing via CLI or your browser at release. Once installed, the rest is handled in the browser — entering your license key and creating your first staff member.

Google Authenticator & Blesta

When we originally introduced two factor authentication there weren’t a whole lot of options available to produce one-time-passwords. Since that time a number of applications have popped up for Andriod, Blackberry, and iOS devices. Chief among those is the Google Authenticator.

Using your Google Authenticator with Blesta is pretty straight forward, but requires a little manipulation to get the key in the correct format. Blesta expects TOTP keys to be in hexadecimal format (base16), but Google Authenticator uses base32. So we have to convert our Google Authenticator keys into hexadecimal before storing in Blesta.

Blesta 3.0: Packages (video)

Packages in v3 are very similar to packages in previous versions, with a lot of additional functionality. The goal in redesigning packages for v3 was to facilitate addons, allow for quantities, provide for better organization of packages, and support specific pricing in multiple currencies (Rather than relying on currency conversion, which Blesta can do too).

A few notable items..

Limited quantities supported! If you only have 100 of them, when they are sold they’re gone.. no more orders can be placed.
Package Groups are new, Standard and Addon. Addon groups can be assigned to Standard groups, making their packages available as addons to the packages within them.
Addon packages are just like normal packages and can be provisioning. An addon for an “extra 10GB disk”, could make an API call to add the disk space, without any staff involvement, assuming the module supports it, of course.
Prices can be specified in multiple currencies. Set a 1 month term to 10 USD, and a 1 month term to 8 EUR and the client will be invoiced the price in their preferred currency, whatever that is.
Package emails are no longer combined with the welcome email template that contains account registration details. A package welcome email is sent out separately when the service is created, allowing for more flexibility and control over service creation emails.
Cancellation fees have been added, which are assessed if a service is canceled early.

We hear it all the time, people love the simplicity of Blesta. Part of the challenge in v3 was to add a lot of new functionality but at the same time maintain and even improve on the simplicity and ease of use of Blesta. The last thing we want is a cluttered interface displaying links to things most people will never use, which is why all the more advanced functionality is hidden under a tiny link called “Settings”. It’s also why non-core items have been delegated as plugins. If it’s a plugin, it can be uninstalled — get rid of those unnecessary links, get back to productivity!

Blesta 3.0: The Marketplace

Blesta v3 was designed with a major emphasis on developers. We know that when others can easily write their own extensions on our platform and make powerful new features available to the market, it makes our product that much better.

We expect a lot of these 3rd party extensions will serve niche markets, and others will compete directly with or extend functionality we’ve built.

With all we’ve done to support developers, the issue becomes about getting their hard work in front of Blesta users. By no means have we created a closed system that forces a particular distribution channel. Our focus is the user experience, and what we’ve built is right up that alley. It’s much easier when users can find extensions quickly and easily, see ratings and feedback from others, and install with a click of the mouse.. all within the application.

In software development, this is where things start to get really exciting for me. Thousands of hours of planning, research, and development all coming together into a single product. I feel like we’re entering the home stretch, even though our next release is in many ways just the beginning of what will surely be plenty of fantastic, feature-rich updates and extensions.

The video today focuses on a rather small feature: Staff BCC Notices. But, this feature is representative of how we approach both permissions and usability. In terms of usability, staff members can subscribe to only those client emails that they want to receive a copy of with just a few clicks. In terms of permissions, the client emails they can subscribe to are specified as part of their staff group so staff members may only opt-in to notices that they have been given permission for. This might vary depending on the staff role, billing or sales, for example.

It’s Friday afternoon and we are starting to wind down for the weekend, so I think I’ll just reflect on the past couple weeks.

Last Thursday a short while before noon the power went out in the whole building. The power was out for several hours, and we were on generator power. I didn’t realize that the generator doesn’t power the lights, or some of the wall outlets.

Back in May our largest competitor WHMCS was compromised, and I wrote a blog post titled “Thoughts on Security“. After my post, the hackers released a data dump and the personal information of their customers became public. Names, email addresses, credit card numbers and more. A nightmare scenario for any company, and worse for their customers.

I got a lot of email, and a few phone calls after that post. People are now, more than ever, concerned about security and they should be. It’s something that cannot be taken for granted, and can no longer be ignored. It requires diligence. There is no such thing as security through obscurity.

In the last developer commentary we took a look at creating a Merchant Gateway to process credit card payments in version 3. Today we’ll do the same for a Non-Merchant Gateway, which allows you to accept payments processed on the payment gateway processor’s own site (think PayPal).

Non-Merchant gateways are really quite basic. There are essentially two elements at play:

Creating an HTML form to handle the payment button (NonmerchantGateway::buildProcess() method)
Processing logic to handle the payment notification response from the gateway processor (NonmerchantGateway::validate() method)

Blesta 3.0: Tangible Invoices

If you’ve been following us for long, you know we talk a lot about invoices. Most recently we did a video about Invoice Customization, and our amazing Invoice Auto-Save feature.

From the beginning Blesta has supported paper invoices. Some clients, typically business clients, want to receive their invoices in the mail. For those clients, Blesta can queue up invoices for print. A staff member logs in, prints them out, stuffs them in envelopes, applies postage and drops them in the mail.

Blesta 3.0: Payment Handling

We’ve talked about payments before, but this week I wanted to go a little more in depth. The way payments are handled and applied by a billing system is important, things need to be accounted for.

Some popular billing systems do really strange things, like..

Create a new invoice when someone attempts to pay multiple open invoices for the sum of those invoices, and when that invoice is paid mark the others as paid.
Allow staff to mark an invoice as paid without recording a transaction.

Simply put, this leads to an accounting nightmare. If an invoice is marked paid, surely there should be a history of how and when that invoice was paid, right? Absolutely! Blesta handles this well in v3, but that’s not a new feature!.. We’ve been accounting for everything since the beginning.

As lead developer, my primary focus has been on designing an efficient system. Since our primary data store (where we make the most reads/writes) is the database, naturally this is where the smallest change can have the biggest impact. I’ve already discussed a number of changes we’ve made to the database system including switching to InnoDB and the use of PDO. The last is the use of unbuffered queries.

Buffered Queries

Buffered queries fetch (e.g. buffer) all records into memory from the database server and automatically close the cursor, allowing other queries to be executed. You might take this for granted. For example, you may have something like:

I came into work this morning with literally no idea what the video was going to be about today. I have a list of topics, but nothing felt right and then I realized we haven’t really talked about currencies much. It’s part of a larger topic, Internationalization, and with what we’re doing with language support and the translator it only makes sense that we should discuss currencies.

Of course, a big part of currencies is multi-currency support and v2.5 has it, but it’s much improved in v3. In v2.5, multi-currency has to be explicitly enabled and everything revolves around the default currency. While v2.5 can accept payments in many currencies, clients are billed based on the exchange rate to the default currency. So, the biggest difference between v2.5 and v3 is that prices can be specified at the package level for each individual currency, effectively fixing prices. Only when a price is not available for the currency does the exchange rate come into play.

In January we announced the availability of a language crowdsourcing project, the Blesta Translator. The goal of the project is to facilitate the translation of Blesta into many languages, and to ship these languages with Blesta, starting with version 3.

Added Nederlands, NL (nl_nl) to the list of available languages
Added a machine translation (Google) for reference
Added “In Order” and “For Confirmation” translation methods
Added some context to language strings including terms, filename, and type

This week I’ve got another video, and it’s all about options available for invoices. There are many improvements in v3 when it comes to invoices, so I thought you might like to see what we’ve got cookin.

Two all newly designed invoice templates available.
Invoice formats are now available. Add a prefix, suffix, and/or the year to invoice numbers.
Set or change the next invoice number anytime.
Have invoice numbers increment 1 at a time or in multiples, ie Invoice # 5, 7, 9.
Pad invoices to a specific length, ie Invoice # 00001, or xxxx1.
Add your logo, a background image, and company name and address to invoices.
US Letter, and A4 paper sizes now supported.
A PAID watermark can now be displayed on paid invoices.

Invoices are flexible yet simple, fully internationalized, clean, and they print beautifully. I’m really happy with the changes we’ve made to invoices since 2.x and I hope you are too!

Some competing products offer licensing modules to facilitate the deployment of such software, but their designs are critically flawed in a number of ways. It’s been a while since I posted a video, I missed you. So, today — a new video, about the Staff Calendar. Staff Calendars feature the following:

Mini dashboard calendar with badges that indicate the number of events for each day.
Full size monthly, weekly, and daily calendar.
Shared events, staff members can share events with everyone on their team, or keep them private.
Multi-day, whole day, and time based events are supported.
Intuitive drag-n-drop interface to create and edit events.

We hope you like the calendar, I know our team will be using it! Developer tidbit: Yes, you’ll be able to add events to the calendar from your custom plugin. I know people are going to ask so I’ll tell you.. recurring events are planned for a future release.

Blesta 3.0: The database

A lot of effort has gone into designing and interfacing with the database in version 3, so I thought I’d share a little insight into some of the improvements we’ve made over version 2.

We’ve beefed up the database by making use of transactions, which allow us to add, edit, or remove items from the database with the ability to undo those changes should something go wrong. Because of this we’ve made the switch from a MyISAM storage engine to InnoDB (the default for MySQL as of version 5.5), making Blesta ACID-ic.

Blesta 3.0: Client Area

One thing we haven’t really talked about much is the client area. We have a good excuse: The vast majority of functionality is built into the staff/admin interface. But, the client experience is important too, arguably much more-so. In v2.x the client interface is identical in overall design to the admin interface with a slight color change.

In v3 we went a different direction. While there are similarities between the client interface and the admin interface they are completely different designs and you log into them independently.

We’ve shown you a fair amount of the staff interface, but I want to show you the staff login page today. Overall this video touches on three things..

Staff Login Page: This is a first, no one outside our team has seen this login page before now.
Two-Factor Authentication: This was originally developed for v3, then back-ported to 2.5.
Resource Preservation: Session expire? Blesta remembers where you were headed.

The staff login page has previously never been shown, although I designed it before much of the interface. Two-Factor Authentication was originally developed early on for v3, and then back-ported to 2.5. As far as we know, no one else supports two-factor authentication, making Blesta uniquely secure. We don’t blame them though, it took plenty of R&D and most solutions are proprietary. Resource preservation is just a fancy term we coined to say that Blesta remembers where you were going, and takes you back there if your session expires and you get logged out and login again.

So, let’s keep it real. I didn’t have the time to make a video this week. I’ve been doing a lot of graphic design work on Blesta, some awesome stuff you’ll get to see soon. But that doesn’t mean I can’t share something, right?

Plugins. Are. Amazing. Plugins can do a lot, we’ve talked about them before in passing while describing other features. Plugins can register widgets on the Dashboard, on the Billing Overview, on the Client Profile. Plugins can create entirely new pages, with new functionality, with their own nav links. Plugins can register themselves into the ACL. Plugins can create their own email templates. Plugins are mini-applications. Plugins are POWERFUL.

This week’s video is about themes. We mentioned themes briefly a while back, but here it is in action. You can do the following with themes:

Select from different color themes that are included with Blesta.
Create and save your own color themes, and fine tune colors to match your brand.
Use your own logo, rather than the Blesta logo.

In the future we may add additional options that affect the direction and style of gradients, add additional options, and provide a way to share themes.

Blesta 3.0: The Translator

Blesta is in use in well more than 50 countries, and our friends abroad speak many different and wonderful languages. Blesta has always supported multi-language and some of our users have made their translations available to the community, but it has only ever shipped with English support and translations have been spotty at best. That’s all about to change.

Today we announce the availability of Blesta Translator, a collaborative, community driven effort to provide full, accurate, and up to date translations in as many languages as possible.

Blesta 3.0: RESTful API (video)

In this developer commentary, I give a behind the scenes look at the API in version 3.

What we’ve done is create a controller to make available all of the various models in a RESTful manner, using the four primary HTTP verbs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE). All this controller needs to do is handle parameter passing and output formatting, which we’ve done here in just 342 lines. Available output formats are JSON, XML, and PHP serialization, but more may be added in the future.

Blesta 3.0: Secure Backups

We take backups seriously and always tell people to back things up before performing an upgrade. An upgrade issue is rare, but backing up your data should be standard practice for any software upgrade. Regular automatic backups are important too — critical, if you ask me.

The current release supports automatic backups but we wanted to take things a little further in v3.. so, we’ve replaced normal FTP backups with SFTP backups and added Amazon S3. That’s two available backup methods. Both are secure.

This weeks post is a video I was planning to make a while ago, and had mentioned it in passing in a previous post on system requirements. The first video I ever posted about v3 showcased manual invoice creation. This video revisits manual invoice creation and shows off two features that the first video did not adequately cover: Auto-Save and fractional quantities (for manual invoices).

When you go to create a new invoice, auto-save works by saving your work automatically every now and then. If your browser crashes, or you accidentally navigate away from the page, just revisit the client profile and click “Drafts” in the Invoices box to continue. When you’re all done, just hit “Create” to create and deliver the invoice. If you aren’t done you can still use “Save as Draft” and finish it later.

Last week I posted about Payment Accounts in version 3. This week I wanted to show you how those work when the rubber meets the road in the Staff interface. Perhaps the best new feature for Payments in version 3 is the ability to void and refund transactions in real-time when supported by the gateway.

Make Payment (Processing and voiding or refunding a credit card or ACH transaction)
Record Payment (Processing and voiding a manual payment, such as a check payment)

Payments in this version are more robust than previous versions. There’s a lot more you can do without leaving the screen, yet it’s remarkably simple and straight forward. I recommend taking the video full-screen, and be sure to turn your sound on.

Payment Accounts are brand new way to manage payment details in Blesta v3. In previous versions you had to create a contact for each and every credit card you added to the client. All of that has been done away with. Payment Accounts are independent from contacts and you can have as many as you want. In addition, Payment Accounts introduce 2 big new features in this version.

Blesta 3.0: Designing A Modular System

There are two prevailing factors that determine how well a software product can adapt, improve, and be extended without imploding in on itself. They are:

Coupling, and
Cohesion

Coupling represents how dependent a given module is on other modules within the system (I use the term “module” in this article in an abstract sense to describe an object or set of objects that are designed to accomplish some task). A loosely coupled module doesn’t rely or expose much of its inner workings to other modules. Conversely, a tightly coupled module relies heavily on other modules and may expose portions of its inner workings so that other modules may interact with it.

ACLs (Access Control Lists) allow refined control over resources in Blesta v3. There are a few notable differences in the way ACLs are implemented in Blesta vs other applications.

Plugins can easily register resources into the permission system to be controlled within the Staff Groups settings page for seamless integration.
The permission system automatically ties into the primary and secondary navigation elements, so even custom controllers can take advantage of the ACL.
The ACL library can be invoked directly for even more refined control. You can design your own hierarchy of permissions and explicitly deny or allow any resource.

In this video, I touch on some of the basics. The ACL currently has 87 resources, but we’ll likely have over 100 in the initial release for the core. The Order and Support plugins will add to that.

Blesta 3.0: Smarter i18n

i18n, or internationalization, is the process of adapting software to be deployed around the world. Since version 1.0 we’ve dedicated a large portion of our time to making Blesta an international product. And in version 3 we’ve gone even further by enhancing our multi-language support.

To start, you’ll notice language definitions are now diffused across multiple files. This serves two purposes. First, it promotes congruency between objects and their associated language (each Controller and Model has its own language file). Secondly, it allows us to load only content that is relative to the resource being requested. This saves memory, speeds up load times, and makes development much easier.

In this developer commentary, I give an in depth look at how AJAX events are handled in version 3 and how you can include them in your own widgets or plugins.

The technology employed here allows us to seamlessly update the state of the browser when performing AJAX requests. This permits the user to navigate using the browser’s back and forward buttons while at the same time offering backward compatibility with normal requests for the same resource.

Blesta 3.0: Data Validation

Blesta 3 offers a huge collection of programming tools for developers. From encryption to session handling, and everything in between. Today we’ll focus on the ins and outs of input validation using the Input component packaged with minPHP.

Input validation in version 3 is clear, concise, and modular. Rules reside within the business logic (the model). The benefit of this design is three fold:

No (or at least reduced) redundancy
Increased readability/writability
Reduced testing/less bugs

Some may argue the benefits of input validation from the first source (i.e. the controller). The folly of this design is its complexity and redundancy. Suppose a client can sign up through an order form, through a signup form, or be created by a staff member. Now you have three locations to test, update, and debug each time a business rule changes (for example, phone number is now required). Now suppose you need clients to be created through an API. Adding a fourth set of rules is just plain silly. A client is a client, regardless of where they originate, so why not consolidate all of this?

Browsers have come a long way in preventing malicious scripts from compromising a user’s system, but XSS (Cross Site Scripting) still poses a security threat for developers. In version 3, we make use of a couple libraries packaged with the minPHP framework and recommend you do the same with your plugins, modules, or gateways. They are the Html and Formhelpers.

In the previous article I showed how to eliminate SQL inection, but what do you do when a user submits some XSS code through a web form? Obviously parameter binding won’t help you there, so what do you do? Nothing. Well, at least for now, and here’s why:

SQL injection is a serious concern for developers, and there are a number of ways of dealing with it; however the best, and most proven method, is through parameter binding. What parameter binding does is substitute variable data within a query with parameters, which are then replaced by the database driver during query execution. Since the database driver is intimately aware of which parts of the query are parameters it can parse the query and then execute it with the bound parameters safely set.

When can I rock out with v3?

Let’s give it some context. v3 is a complete, ground-up rewrite. All of the back-end, and all of the front-end. It’s completely object-oriented. It’s powerful, and intuitive, and customizable, and developer friendly. It has a ton of new and improved features, many of which we couldn’t even consider adding to the old codebase, due to inherent limitations.

Security is a constantly evolving field in computing. Following Moore’s law, computational power essentially doubles every 18 months. Even brute forcing strong encryption algorithms can become, at least theoretically, feasible over the span of a decade.

With Blesta 3.0, we’re looking into the future. — way into the future. We’re designing security measures today that will easily keep data secure beyond 2030. Why? Because even if you never update your software, your data should continue to be secure long into the future.

Blesta 3.0: Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication requires that a user wishing to sign into an account enter both something they know (a username and password) and something they have (a physical token). There are many different methods of proving a user is who they say they are, but one of the best and easiest to use is one-time passwords.

Vending Machine Humor

The vending machine in our lunch room is notorious for taking your money and teasing you with a bag of chips dangling from the slot where it should drop. I suspect there’s a pretty high, 20%-ish “you aint gonna get what you want” rate on this clearly aging food dispensing unit. (Vending machine in lay terms) Sometimes shaking works, but we’ve heard that humans don’t always win in these situations.

A few times a week there’s usually a typical post-it note venting displeasure to the vending machine guy over the loss of money. Yesterday there were a lot of these, and I found this one in particular to be really funny.. largely because the evidence is overwhelming.

Blesta 3.0: API Design

This is the first article, in what will be a series for Blesta 3.0, our next major release. When we sat down to discuss the primary goals of Blesta 3.0, one of the first topics to come up was API design. The two major issues we discovered with the original API design (of 1.0) were that:

It was limited in its capabilities
It was difficult and cumbersome to update

By implementing Blesta on top of an MVC framework (minPHP) we were able to create an automatic API, which eliminated both of these issues entirely. Within an MVC application the model contains all of the business logic, so the only thing required to complete the API is a controller to handle access to the various models. Since models are objects, the API controller can instantiate and access all of the public methods within a requested model. This facilitates requests on logical objects that may perform specific actions.

Suhosin

Suhosin is a (somewhat) commonly installed PHP module used by shared hosting providers to prevent (to some degree) malicious PHP code from compromising a shared environment. Sounds great, but the problem is it spreads its tentacles into areas where, if unaware of its presence, can cause some very unexpected results.

This was the case in Blesta, until recently.

The issue experienced in Blesta was related to session handling. Blesta uses a database to maintain session information, for added security and to permit load balancing. Normally, a session ends when the user closes their browser, however it can be revive if a cookie is stored on the user’s machine and is then read when they revist the site. But because Suhosin encrypts session data by default, our revival code had access to only encrypted data. Essentially, the session couldn’t be revived. The only way to decrypt the data is to have Suhosin do it. So what we did was rename the session prior to starting it, which tricks PHP into thinking the session never ended, and so Suhosin takes over and decrypts the Session just in time.

VPS.NET Robot

The team at VPS.NET was kind enough to send over one of their amazing little robots. Here he is right after I took him out of his anti-static (To prevent electrical issues during transport) bag.

The little guy wasted no time and promptly got to work. I switched the flip from “node management” to programming, and he started away filling in the stub methods for some objects in the new Blesta 3.0 that’s currently under development. Took him a few minutes to learn the Dvorak key mappings (He comes with native QWERTY support only) but once he got the hang of it, it was a sight to behold. I should have taken video.

Website gets a new look

I’m happy to announce that www.blesta.com has a new look. The last design went largely unchanged for about 2 years, so we were long overdue for a facelift. There may be a few issues with missing content, or the occasional broken page but we’ll have that all cleared up in the next few days. So, what do you think?

In the case of encryption the purpose is to disguise the data such that it can’t be read, except by the intended recipient. On the other hand, encoding is used merely to work the data into a more suitable format.

As Paul recently announced on our forums, multi-currency support is coming in version 2.2. This is a major change and affects just about every aspect of Blesta. For this reason a few minor changes have been made to the way gateways are written to accommodate multi-currency support.
